The new Ombre hair color trend seems to be taking off in leaps and bounds. It has not caught on everywhere but the women who are sporting the look seem to be attracting positive attention, on the whole. However for some women who are interested the question is not so much whether they will look great with their hair done this way, but whether it is safe for their health.
Many salons use peroxide to bleach hair. Unfortunately, that is damaging to the scalp and in some cases, leaves patrons with severe irritation. Is it possible to color your hair in the Ombre style without causing damage to your skin?
Unfortunately, most salons do apply peroxide when lightening hair form the ends in order to achieve the Ombre look. Most tutorials that show you how to do this style at home also rely on this strong bleaching agent. You can use natural sources of peroxide, such as honey and cinnamon, to lighten your ends. You could also try getting Ombre extensions if you want the Ombre look without using chemicals.
